The FCC has released an updated version of “The Public and Broadcasting,” a document that is required to be placed in the public inspection file of each radio and television station.  Briefly stated, “The Public and Broadcasting” provides an overview of the rules and regulations affecting broadcasters and explains how members of the public can assist the Commission in evaluating whether stations are serving their local communities.

The new version of “The Public and Broadcasting” (April 2008) is available on the FCC’s website, at http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/decdoc/public_and_broadcasting.html.  You should immediately print out a new copy and discard the previous version of that document, which was dated as of June 1999.

Please contact us with any questions concerning this matter.
